It’s nice when the kids dress themselves

tell me, guru, what steps did you take to get him to this stage? I have jsut learned that at school dude can put on his own shoes. but has never done this at home, not since a few months during early 2 with crocs. and i suspect he can do more pants / shirt. but prefers naked so much we don’t ever see this self-dressing. how’d you teach it, and how’d you make it somehting he wants to do?

THAT is sensational! The real trouble comes when they expect to leave the house in one of those get-ups.

Kate, this is one of Eli’s tamer outfits. Most of the time it involves cowboy boots, shorts, three shirts and gloves.

Em, I don’t know, I think a lot of it might be older-brother-influenced. Henry loves dressing himself because he can, say, dress all in blue so he can pretend to be a blueberry. Eli mostly wants to be naked, though, also. The big clothes issue with him these days is that he still needs help every time he has to pee, although he CAN do it himself. I mean, I get it, the pulling up and down of pants and underwear is hard, but he doesn’t even want to try.
