Let me just take a super quick break from my giant research paper to report some important cookie news. I picked up a bag of Limited Edition Nestle Tollhouse Dark Chocolate and Mint Morsels (I got them at Target), and I’m here to report to you that the cookie recipe on the back of the bag, Mint Chocolate Delights, tastes exactly like Thin Mints, only actually much better. I did use Double Dutch Dark Cocoa from King Arthur, and that probably made a difference, also. Yum!
(For the record, that Double Dutch Dark Cocoa is the only cocoa I use any more. It’s unbelievably good.)
I think what’s hilarious about this post is the contrast to the recipe I just observed, on a day home feverish and sick, Paula Deen make on food channel: hidden mint cookies. which are, I kid you not:
1 slice pre-packaged in a tube sugar cookie dough
1 girlscout mint cookie on top followed by
another slice prepackagedinatube sugar cookie dough
and sprinkle of pecans.
wow.i mean, good, but wow. kind of makes you sick of yourself just thinking of eating one, deosn’t it?
That sounds absolutely vile. It falls into the deep fried cheesecake category…I mean, yeah, I get it, but gross. Plus wouldn’t it be like an inch thick?
